Renee Margolin |
|
Renee Margolin starred as the very well-known Sillywhim
on "Wee Sing in Sillyville." Renee currently works at her family business in Houston, Texas, which sells commercial and
residential lighting all over the U.S. Her efforts are in the showroom, where she associates with the public daily. She says,
"The first year working at the counter, I would have young mothers look at me and say, 'Hey, don't I know you?' And I'd
laugh and say, 'Do you have any children's video tapes?' And then bing, the light goes on and they'd scream out, 'Sillywhim!'"
Last year Renee received an email
from her childhood friend's daughter, who attends Duke University. Her roommate was a "Sillyville groupie." When she told
her that she knew Renee Margolin, the roommate and one of her friends got up and did all of the Sillyville songs
and dances in their dorm hallway!
Renee says, "It's great to know
Pam and Susan made children's entertainment that is classic and will live on and on and being a part of all that brings great
joy in my heart, knowing you'll be sitting with your kids and even maybe your grandkids, singing, "Let us sing together, let
us sing together, one and all a joyous song...!!!"

Jacque Drew |
|
Jacque Drew starred as the Dutch Girl on Grandpa's
Magical Toys. She is currently an actress at the Mt. Hood Repertory Theatre Company in Gresham, Oregon and lives in New
Zealand. She is also the director of Still Water Rising, a mentoring program for at-risk youth which
pairs professional actors with teens to write original plays.
Jacque says she has fond memories
of Grandpa's Magical Toys. Most of the actors were good friends, even after the film was finished. The only bad memory
she has is when she passed out during a shot from heat stroke! (she says the costume consisted of shoes, tights, six petticoats,
blouse, bodice, wig, and hat which got extremely hot, especially during the jumping rope scene) Although a little embarrassed,
the kids on the set thought it was pretty awesome!
Jacque also said that there was a controversy with the accent (it's not really how she talks). The producers wanted to re-record
all of her vocal work using someone else's voice, but because it would be costly and the film was already complete, they left
it as it was.
